John Tarkany
Principal, RLA, ASLA
John Tarkany has been leading project landscape architecture for over 30 years, including 23 years in Charleston, South Carolina.
John is a graduate of The Ohio State University and has provided professional vision and detailed design services on projects ranging from the world renowned Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s clubhouses and The Sanctuary Hotel, to exquisite custom homes and land conservation on some of the nation’s most valued and historic plantations. Other work has included domestic and international master planning and conservation management on larger tracts of culturally and environmentally significant lands. John’s work has kept him a resident of Charleston, but has taken him as far as Africa, Europe and the Caribbean, as well as across America.
John is involved in various volunteer efforts including the Ashley Scenic River Advisory Council with SCDNR and The Charleston Green Committee, and he serves on the Registration Board for the State of South Carolina. John was the host of the radio show Charleston Green. |

Mike Kittrell
Designer, LEED AP
Mike holds a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Texas – Austin, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of Georgia. He has provided design services on projects ranging from land, conservation and community planning to urban, park and residential design. Mike is a full member of the American Society of Landscape Architects and is a LEED Accredited Professional.
